The game of baseball has had the same formats since its inception in 1744, and they still exist today. North America, Canada, and Japan are the regions where the game is most popular. Baseball is a sport that is played all over the world, and the World Series is where it all comes together. Ironically, only North American teams are competing in this event.
The Objective of Baseball
In baseball, the goal is to score more runs than your rival. In order to complete a run, you must run around four bases after hitting the ball as far as you can. A new batter enters after a player successfully circles all four bases before being tagged out.
Players & Equipment
Two teams, each with nine players, compete in a game. Each team alternates between batting and fielding in each of the game's nine innings. The team with the most points at the end of all innings is declared the winner after the final scores are added together. Every inning has three outs for each team before switching roles. There are two halves to each inning: the top, where the opposing team bats, and the bottom (where the home team bats).
Infield and outfield are the two divisions of the field. The infield and outfield are divided by a diamond-shaped field with four bases that are each 90 feet apart from the other.
The pitching mound, where the pitcher stands and tosses the ball toward the batter, is located in the middle of the infield. At home plate, the batter is positioned. First base, second base, and third base are the names of the remaining three bases. Before the batter can successfully score a run, all bases must be touched.
The materials used to make the bats are either metal, aluminium, or wood. The ball is about 3 inches in diameter and is made of white fabric with red stitching. To assist them in catching and picking up the ball, the fielding team wears "mits," which are essentially oversized gloves. The catcher wears additional padding in their glove, leg guards, a body pad, and a helmet while standing behind the batter to catch any balls missed.
Scoring
A batter must make it around all four bases and hit the ball with their bat into the designated fielding area in order to score (before the fielding team is able to collect the ball and throw it to the base the batter is running to). If a player hits a home run, which typically indicates that the ball has left the field of play and is likely to land in the crowd, they will automatically score one point. If a player fears being tagged out before reaching the next base, they may stop at any base.
If more than one player is already on one of the bases, players can score multiple points from a single hit. The expression "the bases are loaded" describes a situation in which there is a player on each base. The other players on the second and third bases can then trickle home each time a batter successfully makes it to first base, scoring a point for their team each time. The number of players who make it to home plate before being tagged determines how many points you will receive. On a hit, a player can score up to four points.
Winning the game
You must outscore your opponent during all nine innings of play to win a game. After nine innings, the team with the most points is declared the winner. A tie resulted in extra innings being played until a winner was determined.

If four balls miss the strike zone and the batter does not swing their bat, they can walk to first base.
- When on base, the batter can run to the next base at any point.
- Players can be dismissed by either a 'strike out' (referring to a batsman missing the ball three times), 'force out' (when a player fails to make the base before the defensive player), 'fly out' (when the ball is hit in the air and caught without it bouncing), and 'tag outs' (where a defensive player with the ball tags the batsman with the ball all whilst they are running).
