MARVEL
Marvel Studios released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming movie Thunderbolts* on Monday (Sep 23). Starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan and David Harbour, the movie is set for release on May 2, 2025 and will be the 36th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU.
Thunderbolts is the next big team-up movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, hitting theaters on May 2, 2025. It brings together a bunch of characters like Yelena Belova, the Winter Soldier, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Ghost, and Taskmaster. They all discover they’ve been set up by the new C.I.A. director, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. After barely surviving their crazy mission, these antiheroes and reformed villains team up to take revenge on the people who wanted them dead, but they definitely don’t work together as smoothly as the Avengers!
In the new Thunderbolts trailer, sharp-eyed fans might notice a cool Malaysian landmark. At about 1:04 sec, Florence Pugh's character, Yelena Belova, is hanging out at Kuala Lumpur’s Lebuh Ampang, and behind her, you can see the Menara HSBC South Tower collapsing. Plus, on the right, there's a sign for 'Kedai Kopi Kong Hoe,' which means Kong Hoe Coffeeshop in Malay. Pretty neat!
Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*opens in U.S. theaters on May 2, 2025.
Thunderbolts just dropped a new poster, and fans are saying it might have been made by AI! After the trailer came out on Monday, everyone was hyped, but then they noticed something weird about "Bob's" hand in the poster. Lewis Pullman's character has six fingers instead of five! This got Marvel fans into detective mode, trying to figure out if it was a mistake or if AI was involved. Most people think it’s just a Photoshop screw-up since there are other weird things in the poster, like characters’ limbs being all messed up, but not in a super obvious AI way. Pretty funny, right?
Marvel trailers are famous for changing things up before the final movie. A big topic among fans about the Thunderbolts trailer is whether Yelena Belova is on a mission inside Avengers Tower. Why would these anti-heroes and villains be let loose in the former HQ of the Avengers? Is the target they’re after just Pullman’s character, "Bob," who looks super ordinary? I mean, why is he just hanging around in a medical outfit in a classified area? Plus, what are those weird things hanging from the ceiling? It might just be a sneak peek rather than AI messing things up. Guess we’ll find out more in May 2025!
